International Workers’ Day, also known as May Day, is steeped in radical history. According to the historian Peter Linebaugh, “May Day is about affirmation, the love of life, and the start of spring, so it has to be about the beginning of the end of the capitalist system of exploitation, oppression, war, and overall misery, toil, and moil.”

Every year on May Day, millions of people take to the streets around the world, commemorating workers’ struggles of the past and building power for the future. Labor unions and workers all around the world have been on the frontlines of the struggle for a liberated Palestine, leading powerful actions like blocking boats from transporting arms to Israel, making statements and agitation, and more.

TW4C is building a contingent of theater workers to march hundreds strong in solidarity with Palestine on May 1st.
